In My Mailbox - Spring Break Finds

Hey everyone!

Once again it's time for an 'In My Mailbox'. In My Mailbox is a book blogging Internet meme started by Kristi over at The Story Siren. In My Mailbox is a meme where you talk about books you receive in your mailbox, giveaways, books you bought at stores, borrowed from the library and etc!

So last week was spring break and now it's time to go back to school (long sigh). As usual, I went back to the library to drop off books and thought to myself 'I'm not going to get any new books this time because I need to read the million books I have on my shelves.' But, alas, I did get books and the books on my shelves are just sitting there collecting dust and age. However, after this haul I'm hoping this will be the last library haul for a while so that I can read all of the books that I've been wanting to read for so long that are just sitting there on my bookshelf. So without further ado;

(In order from top to bottom)

Sharing Sam by Katherine Applegate
Don't Breathe A Word by Holly Cupala

Every Day by David Levithan

The two top books were borrowed after I read the synopsis on the back of each cover and was interested. But Every Day is a book I've been wanting to read for a very long time, and I was so excited when I saw it on the NEW shelf at the library.

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

In My Mailbox - Library Treasures

Hey everyone!

Once again it's time for an 'In My Mailbox'. In My Mailbox is a book blogging Internet meme started by Kristi over at The Story Siren. In My Mailbox is a meme where you talk about books you receive in your mailbox, giveaways, books you bought at stores, borrowed from the library and etc!

I am so excited for this book haul! Though there are only three books, this In My Mailbox is more about quality over quantity. Recently I went to the library after a really long day at school to return due books. I told myself over and over again in my head that I wasn't going to borrow any books this time because I have so many books on my shelves that need to be read. But, of course, I borrowed some books. If you're a book lover you know exactly how it goes. What was really exciting though was that the Colorado government donated a TON of books to the library and many of them are books I never imagined the library having for at least a year or so (my library can sometimes be pretty behind when it comes to getting new books, most of the books on the 'NEW' shelves are from 2010 and 2011). Thank you Colorado government! It certainly made my day, my week! So without further ado;

(In order from top to bottom)

Legend by Marie Lu

The fault in our stars by John Green

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

All three of the books above have been on my to be read list for quite some time now. Having found them at the library had me trying hard to contain my excitement in the quiet building. I'm super excited for this haul and cannot wait to sink into these books!

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

Snow Day! - In My Mailbox

So if you haven't already guessed from the title, today is a snow day. We've gotten almost a foot of snow and little glittery flakes are still falling down from the sky as I type, even though the sun's out. I've been so outrageously busy with college this semester because I'm getting ready to transfer to another school, and haven't had very much time to blog lately. I wanted to apologize for my seemingly inconsistent posts and extended, frequent absences. But since we got a snow day today I finally have free time to blog and post this book haul I've been meaning to post up for a couple of weeks. Without further ado;

These are books that I've gotten within the past month from book stores, my sister, and lovely Amazon.

(In order from top to bottom)

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

(My 4th grade teacher read Hatchet to us and I fell in love, wanting to relive the adventure I bought it off of Amazon.)

You are so cursed! by Naomi Nash

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Firelight by Sophie Jordan

Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) by Richelle Mead

Between the lines by Jodie Picoult & Samantha Van Leer

This was a really great haul, some of these books are some that I've wanted to read for a very long time.

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

In My Mailbox - Wintery Treasures

Hey everyone!

Once again it's time for an 'In My Mailbox'. In My Mailbox is a book blogging Internet meme started by Kristi over at The Story Siren. In My Mailbox is a meme where you talk about books you receive in your mailbox, giveaways, books you bought at stores, borrowed from the library and etc!

Oh my goodness I haven't done one of these in a really long time! I've been trying to finish reading the books I already have stacked on my shelves waiting to be read but you know how it is. You just can't keep getting books because they're like an addiction. Am I right? :) I just got back from the library today and I hit the jackpot. I wasn't expecting to pick up any books but they had a whole bunch of sequels to books I've read, and I had to stop myself before I was going to take way more books home than I should have. So without further ado;

These are the books that I have recently bought from the book store and/or the thrift store.

(In order from top to bottom)

Night's Master by Amanda Ashley

Full Moon Kisses (Full Moon, #3) by Ellen Schreiber

Lullaby (Watersong, #2) by Amanda Hocking

This is the jackpot I hit at the library today!

(In order from top to bottom)

Crimson Frost (Mythos Academy, #4) by Jennifer Estep

Rules of Attraction (Perfect Chemistry, #2) by Simone Elkeles

Forgotten by Cat Patrick

Crescendo (Hush Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick

And guess what?! Lullaby was signed by Amanda hocking. :) I'm super excited about this because 1. This is my first signed book, and 2. It's signed by Amanda freaking Hocking.

I can't wait to sink my teeth into these books.

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

In My Mailbox - Summer Book Haul!

Now that summer's officially over and autumn is breezing in I wanted to do a summer haul of all of the books I got over the summer. Since I hadn't blogged over the summer the books accumulated to a great big pile and now take up a couple of shelves on my bookshelf. However, a few of the books I did get over the summer ended up being donated to the library or given to friends and family so they won't be showing up in this haul. (But their reviews will be posted up very soon!)

So without further ado, here are the books I got over the summer;

It may be a bit hard to see all of the titles because this was the closest I could get to include all of the books in the picture.

(In order from top to bottom, starting from the left)

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

For years I was dying to see the movies and while at Target one day I stumbled across this gem and decided I'd give the book series a shot since the Hobbit will be coming out to theaters on my birthday this year!

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan

I've been dying to read this book series for the longest time and my sister got it and let me borrow it (thanks sis!)

Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck

I wanted to read this book after reading Elodie's review of it on her blog! :)

Magic of the Moonlight (Full Moon, #2) by Ellen Schrieber

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter

Something Wiccan This Way Comes (Rhiannon Godfrey, #2) by Traci E. Hall

Her Wiccan Wiccan Ways (Rhiannon Godfrey, #1) by Traci E. Hall

Daughters of the Moon by Lynne Ewing

Goddess Interrupted (Goddess Test, #2) by Aimee Carter

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

Fated by Alyson Noel

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (#2) by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (#1) by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (#7) by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (#6) by J.K. Rowling

I had the last two Harry Potter books already and only read the sixth one and half of the seventh and never finished it. I've always loved Harry Potter but have only read a few of the books that I borrowed from the library, but about a month ago I felt the urge to reread the series and relive the magic of my favorite book series EVER. Hopefully that will happen next month in time for Halloween! :)

That's the book haul for what's in my mailbox. There were a lot of other books I had gotten that didn't get the chance to show up in this haul but I did get the chance to read them and the reviews will be up soon!

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

This is an accumulation of books that I've gotten over the last couple of weeks from grocery stores to giveaways!

(In order from top to bottom)

Once in a full moon by Ellen Schreiber

I absolutely love the Vampire Kisses series and have been dying to read other books by the glamorous Ellen because she's one of my favorite authors. So after several times of going to the bookstore and dying to pick up her famous werewolf series off of the shelf I finally did! Woohoo!

Cloaked by Alex Flinn

I loved Alex's other urban fairytale retelling like Beastly and A Kiss In Time.

Immortal Hearts by Ellen Schreiber

The last book in the Vampire Kisses series which both thrills and saddens me. I'm super excited to read the conclusion of the series but nervous about what's going to happen. But I'm so excited to sink my teeth into this book! ;)

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith

While on a trip to the movie theater a few weeks ago I saw the trailer to the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter movie directed by the amazing Tim Burton and was instantly thrilled. As soon as I had laid eyes on this book at the grocery store I knew I needed to get it because I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie so that my mind could be fresh and my imagination unaffected. (It's one of my quirks.)

Vengeance by Ian Irvine

I won this book in a giveaway on GoodReads and the synopsis sounded pretty cool so I'm excited to read this whenever I'll get the chance.

That's all for the books In My Mailbox. What books have you guys gotten recently that you're excited about?

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

This is an accumulated haul of books that I've gotten over the past month. I'm really excited about these books because I've been wanting to read a majority of them for quite some time and now I can! So without further ado, shall we begin the haul? :)

In order from top to bottom;

An ARC of The Queen's Lady by Eve Edwards GoodReads

Fix by Force by Jason Warne GoodReads

          (I won this book in a giveaway on GoodReads by Jason Warne himself, it's the first time I've ever won anything so it was pretty exciting :) I can't wait to read it thought, it's different than the books I normally read.)

Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins GoodReads

          (I already have a copy of this book and read it a few months ago, read my review on GoodReads here, but my aunt sent me a copy thinking that I hadn't :))

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare GoodReads

Divergent by Veronica Roth GoodReads

Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles GoodReads

So I'm really excited about this haul, a few of these books have been on my To Be Read list for quite some time and now I finally got a hold of them. Hopefully there will be some reviews coming your way pretty soon. What books have you guys been dying to get your hands on but haven't yet?

This is a haul of books that I got all on the same day back on April 17th when Ascend by Amanda Hocking came out. My mom and I were doing errands and I rushed to the book aisle of every store we went to but they didn't have the third book to the Trylle trilogy. I got all mopey that I couldn't find it and my mom said 'Noel you already have so many books you haven't read you can wait.'
And of course I said 'Mom this is Ascend, the Trylle trilogy, I can't wait!' So I ended up driving us down to Barnes & Noble and of course they had it :) I love B&N. So I had just gotten paid a few weeks earlier so I splurged a bit and ended up getting a few other books that I had wanted. Something you need to know about me; I can never walk into B&N with only one book, it is physically impossible. So without further ado;

(In order from top to bottom)

The Ghost And The Goth by Stacey Kade, Which I have already read and you can read the review here)

Generation Dead by Daniel Waters

Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter (The sequel to Goddess Test, I'm so excited! :D)

Ascend by Amanda Hocking (the third and final book in the Trylle trilogy)

I probably won't have another 'In my Mailbox' for a while because I really need to minimize my to be read shelf. Most probably I'll be participating in a read-a-thon since school will be out in a couple of weeks!!! Woohoo summer :) I've got about a month of free time before my college summer classes start so hopefully I can get a lot of books read by then.

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)

Those are my collected books and hopefully there will be reviews coming out shortly :).

In my mailbox-"Touch of Frost" by Jennifer Estep

Hey everyone!

In My Mailbox is a book blogging internet meme started by Kristi over at The Story Siren. In My Mailbox is a meme where you talk about books you recieve in your mailbox, giveaways, books you bought at stores, borrowed from the library and etc!

Synopsis:

My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy—a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest.

But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why—especially since I should have been the one who died. . .

     Today I finally got this baby in my mailbox. I'm so stoked! There's a funny thing about this book though. About a month ago I was going gift shopping for my sister's upcoming birthday. Knowing that she really liked boarding-school, paranormal type YA books; I found the book "Kiss of Frost" at my grocery store. Yeah you heard right, my grocery store. So I got really excited and after reading the synopsis felt that even I wanted to read it after she was done with it. So I bought the book. When I got home I did a little researching to find out if the book was part of a series so that if it was I could buy her the sequel so she wouldn't have to wait. Well little did I know I had bought the sequel...yeah it was quite the shocker. On the picture of the book online it specifically said "sequel to touch of frost" and I immediately ran upstairs to see if that was written on the cover of the book and lo and behold it was. I felt so stupid and decided that I had nothing to do but by the first book. That was about a month ago and it FINALLY arrived today! Once I'm done with the other couple of books that I'm currently reading simultaneously I'm going to dive into this book. Oh yeah, didn't I give it to my sister? you're asking. Well I ended up giving her another present due to the whole predicament and lateness of my order. But it's alright, now I don't have to wait for the sequel if I end up diving into this book and loving it.

HAPPY READING EVERYONE! :)
